This was one of my final accepted projects for 2020, but it nearly didn’t happen! The only reason we could complete and ship in time was that the amazing team at Soulcycle were able to provide me with a full print ready 3D file of the bike you see here.
3D printing is a growing method for us in making snow globes. Most of the time we still need to hand sculpt the inner setting, however for subjects like this, we are able to get much more specific, accurate detail in the finished product than we would by hand sculpting. And the other amazing benefit is the time saving component.
Whilst hand sculpting tends to take upwards of 3-4 weeks to complete, a 3D file can be printed and ready to mould within 30 minutes! We also don’t have to go through the digital design process, as the client provides the 3D file perfect and ready to go. It can really make a huge difference, and in this case allowed us to halve our usual production time.
I think you’ll agree that these minimalist globes look amazing with the all-black bike and pure white snow! A very cool project indeed.
